The Kiddie Academy project is an early childhood education facility designed to nurture, educate, and inspire young learners in a safe, engaging, and development-focused environment. The facility includes purpose-built spaces for classrooms, play areas, administrative offices, and support functions, all thoughtfully planned to promote children’s social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. High standards of safety, comfort, and security were central to the project’s design objectives.
3S MEP provided comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering services to support seamless building performance, occupant safety, and long-term energy efficiency. The scope of work encompassed the complete design of ventilation, heating, cooling, lighting, power distribution, and security systems for classrooms, offices, and child and staff restrooms, ensuring a reliable and code-compliant infrastructure throughout the facility.
Electrical design was developed with a strong focus on the unique requirements of an early childhood educational environment. Detailed load calculations were performed for classrooms, play spaces, administrative areas, and support rooms to ensure adequate and reliable power for lighting, educational technology, security systems, and specialized equipment. All equipment selections prioritized child safety, durability, and compliance with applicable electrical and life-safety codes.
Comprehensive electrical schematics and construction documentation were prepared, incorporating controlled receptacles in classrooms and offices to support energy-efficient, occupancy-based control strategies. Clear tagging, notes, and coordination details were provided to assist contractors during construction and to ensure that all electrical systems aligned with the facility’s operational, educational, and safety requirements.
Mechanical and plumbing systems were designed in full compliance with state-adopted building codes and relevant industry standards. The mechanical design features a Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) combined with individual space conditioning units, enabling precise zone-level temperature control, enhanced indoor air quality, and improved energy performance. The design adheres to the latest ASHRAE Standards 15 and 34, incorporating provisions for the safe application of A2L refrigerants and ensuring readiness for evolving refrigerant regulations.
